Nora's Name

A few people have asked how we decided on Nora Elizabeth. We wanted a name that was not too common (like Amy in 1976) but not too trendy. My grandmother's name is Eleanor. This just seemed like too grown up of a name for our baby. We saw in one of those baby name books at Barnes & Noble that Nora is a nickname for Eleanor. Andy liked that name right away and so did I. So, she is named after her great-grandmother, but with her own version of the name!

  1. It's a beautiful name. Thanks for letting us know where you came up with it. I was wondering, too!

I'm glad you and Nora are doing so well. I've been checking the blog often, what a great idea to keep everyone informed. I hope that she continues to improve so quickly and that you and Andy can take her home soon. I can't wait to meet her!

    Take care! Heather

  2. Hey guys!
It just occurred to me today that I haven't checked the blog since your first posting! I am so glad things aren't always what they seem to be and that Nora is making so much progress. I'm sure you'll all be happy when she gets to come home. I love the picture of her sucking her thumb. (I, too, had a diversion to pacifiers- before I had Lily.) Have a merry christmas and give that sweetheart a smooch from me!

  3. That was Melissa in that posting. I'm an idiot and can't figure out how to "select a profile" so I guess I'll just remain annonymous.
